Effective representation begins long before the first court appearance. Our discipline is preparation.

§ 05 — Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Straightforward answers to what clients ask most. For advice on your specific situation, please contact the office.

What areas of law does the firm handle?+
Civil and commercial litigation, property and real estate, corporate and business advisory, arbitration and mediation, family and succession, GST, banking and regulatory matters, intellectual property, and dedicated NRI services — with advisory, documentation and litigation offered under one roof.
Which courts do you appear before?+
We regularly appear before the Madras High Court and the subordinate civil, criminal, commercial and family courts across Tamil Nadu, and before tribunals such as the NCLT, NGT and Consumer Commissions. Supreme Court of India matters are handled at New Delhi, subject to the nature of the case.
How do I arrange a consultation?+
Call or message +91 98410 34689, or email info@lawyerchennai.com with a brief description of your matter. We review the essentials and advise on the next steps. Meetings can be arranged at our Mogappair West office or High Court office in George Town.
Can NRIs engage the firm without travelling to India?+
Yes. We assist NRIs and OCI cardholders remotely through secure digital communication and, where required, a Power of Attorney authorising us to act on your behalf — for property, inheritance, documentation and litigation management. Frequent travel is usually unnecessary.
What should I bring to a first consultation?+
Whatever documents relate to your matter — agreements, title deeds, notices, correspondence, court papers or identity documents. Even partial records help; after an initial review we will tell you what else is needed.
How are professional fees determined?+
Fees depend on the nature, complexity and forum of the matter. We explain the likely basis of charges at the outset so there are no surprises. Please contact the office for a matter-specific estimate.
Should I choose litigation, arbitration or mediation?+
It depends on your objectives, the terms of any contract and the relationship between the parties. We often recommend negotiation, mediation or arbitration where they can resolve a dispute faster and more privately, and reserve litigation for when it genuinely serves your interests. We advise on the best route after reviewing your matter.
Is my information kept confidential?+
Yes. Communications with the firm are treated as confidential and are protected by advocate–client privilege under law. We maintain strict confidentiality across every engagement.
Do you take matters outside Chennai or Tamil Nadu?+
Yes. We advise clients across India and overseas, and coordinate representation in other jurisdictions where required, subject to applicable law.
§ 06 — Consultation

Tell us about your matter.

Share the essentials and we will advise on your position, the available remedies and a realistic way forward. Confidential from the first conversation.
